PORTRAITS

​​I do a lot of portraits, both from photographs, like this Irish girl, and from life.  It's important to me to capture the expression and personality of my model.

 

Unlike some other realist artists, I use traditional methods instead of tracing and transferring photographs.  When I do base a portrait on photographs, I refer to multiple images wherever possible, and create an original, not a copy.
